Composition

active substances: 1 g of the drug contains bismuth tribromophenolate (Xeroform) (in terms of 50% bismuth oxide and dry matter) 30 mg, birch tar 30 mg;

excipients: colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, castor oil.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.

Balsamic liniment according to Vishnevsky has a disinfecting, anti-inflammatory, weak irritating effect on tissue receptors thanks to the components included in its composition. The drug helps to accelerate the healing process of wounds, normalizing blood supply to tissues.

Pharmacokinetics.

Not studied.

Indication

  • Abscesses;

  • boils;

  • bedsores;

  • lymphadenitis;

  • lymphangitis;

  • burns;

  • freezing;

  • trophic ulcers.

Contraindication

  • Increased sensitivity to phenol and its derivatives;

  • hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction

When used simultaneously on the same areas of the skin with other drugs for external use, new compounds with unpredictable effects may be created.

Features of use

Before starting treatment, you should consult a doctor!

Liniment is intended for external use only. Before applying a bandage, the wound should be cleaned of necrotic tissues, blisters should be opened, and washed with an antiseptic solution.

Do not allow the liniment to get on the mucous membranes. Hands should be thoroughly washed after applying the product to prevent residual ointment from getting into the eyes, nose, and mouth. In case of contact, rinse with plenty of water.

Birch tar, which is part of the balsamic liniment, can increase sensitivity to sunlight, so in the summer you should avoid being in the sun during treatment with the drug.

If the symptoms of the disease do not begin to disappear or, on the contrary, the state of health worsens, or any undesirable phenomena occur, it is necessary to suspend the use of the drug and consult a doctor for further treatment.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Since the safety of using the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been studied, it should be prescribed taking into account the risk/benefit ratio.

The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.

There is no information on the effect of the drug on the speed of reaction when driving a motor vehicle or other mechanisms.

Method of application and dosage

Adults should apply liniment externally as prescribed by a doctor. Apply 2-3 times a day with a thin layer on the affected areas of the skin or apply a bandage of 5-6 layers of gauze soaked in the drug. Fix the bandage, change once every 2-3 days.

Dressings should be carried out until the infected skin area is completely cleaned.

The duration of the treatment course is from 6 to 20 days.

Children.

The safety and clinical effectiveness of the drug in this age category have not been studied.

Overdose

Manifestations of a local allergic reaction (including rash, itching) are possible, requiring anti-allergic therapy.

Treatment:in case of accidental ingestion of a large amount of gel, induce vomiting and consult a doctor. The therapy is symptomatic.

Side effects

With long-term use, manifestations of a local allergic reaction are possible (including hyperemia, itching, skin rashes, including urticaria, edema), which require antiallergic therapy. Photosensitization reactions are possible.

If any negative reactions occur, you should stop using the drug and be sure to consult a doctor about further treatment!

Expiration date

5 years.

Do not use the drug after the expiration date indicated on the package.

Storage conditions

In the original packaging at a temperature not higher than 25 ºС.
