Composition

The main physical and chemical properties: a homogeneous mass of white color or with a slightly grayish tint, with a pleasant smell. During storage, liquid may appear on the surface of the drug.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.The properties of the medicinal product are determined by the active components included in its composition. Boric acid, sodium tetraborate have an antiseptic effect, salicylic acid has an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and keratoplastic effect; zinc oxide and lead acetate – adsorbing, antimicrobial, binding action; hexamethylenetetramine and formaldehyde - disinfectant, antimicrobial, antimycotic and deodorizing effect; menthol (which is part of peppermint oil) has a cooling, vasodilating effect.

Pharmacokinetics. Not studied.

Indication

Mycosis of the feet, hyperhidrosis, pruritus, increased sweating.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to any components of the drug, chronic kidney diseases, acute inflammatory diseases of the skin and adjacent tissues, damage to the skin at the application site, spasmophilia, bronchial asthma.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction

When used simultaneously with drugs for external use, new compounds with unpredictable effects may be formed.

Since the composition of the drug includes salicylic acid, Paste Teymurov should not be combined with the oral use of drugs that contain acetylsalicylic acid and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Do not use with benzoyl peroxide and topical retinoids.

Salicylic acid can increase the permeability of the skin to other topical medications and thus increase their absorption into the body. In addition, salicylic acid can enhance the undesirable effect of methotrexate and the hypoglycemic effect of oral antidiabetic drugs - sulfonylurea derivatives.

Features of use

Teymurov's paste should not be applied to large areas of the body, open wounds, the hairy part of the head, in case of inflammatory skin diseases. Do not allow the drug to get into the eyes and mucous membranes. If the paste gets into the eyes, remove the paste with a gauze swab and rinse the eyes thoroughly with warm water.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or work with other mechanisms.

Method of application and dosage

The drug is intended for external use. Adults and children over 14 years of age treat the affected areas of the skin 2‒3 times a day, applying the paste in a thin layer. It is not recommended to apply the drug to large areas of the skin. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually and depends on the effect achieved and the course of the disease.

Children.

Do not use in children under 14 years of age.

Overdose

With long-term use of the drug on large surfaces, manifestations of overdose are possible: headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, diarrhea, skin rashes. In these cases, the use of the drug should be stopped, detoxification and symptomatic therapy should be prescribed.

Side effects

Possible headache, nausea, in severe cases - vomiting, confusion, dizziness, tinnitus, pain in the epigastrium, acidosis, rapid breathing, diarrhea, oliguria; when applied to large areas of the skin, the development of kidney failure is possible. Local reactions: irritation, pain, burning, dry skin. Allergic reactions are possible, including redness of the skin, rashes, itching, urticaria, peeling of the skin, contact dermatitis, anaphylactic reactions, including shock, angioedema.
